Description

This iced matcha milk tea with red bean is a refreshing and energizing drink that layers sweet red bean paste, creamy milk, and bold, earthy matcha. It’s visually striking, easy to make, and perfect for a quick café-style treat at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons matcha powder (high quality)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) hot water (not boiling)
  • 4 tablespoons sweet red bean paste
  • 2 cups (480 ml) whole milk (or milk of choice)
  • 23 cups ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together matcha powder and sugar.
  2. Add hot water and whisk until fully dissolved and smooth.
  3. Place 2 tablespoons of red bean paste at the bottom of each serving glass.
  4. Fill each glass with ice to the top.
  5. Pour 1 cup of milk over the red bean and ice in each glass.
  6. Top with the prepared matcha mixture. Serve as-is or stir gently to combine.

Notes

  • Use dairy-free milk alternatives like oat, almond, or soy for a vegan version.
  • Adjust or omit sugar based on the sweetness of your matcha or red bean paste.
  • To maintain layers, pour matcha over a spoon when adding to the glass.
  • Use whole sweetened red beans for more texture instead of paste.
  • Best served immediately for optimal texture and taste.
