Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch bite-sized pieces
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, to taste)
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup low-sodium chicken broth
- ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cut the chicken into even 1-inch cubes for even cooking.
- Toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
- In a small bowl, whisk together minced garlic, red pepper flakes, honey, chicken broth, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken, reduce heat to low, and stir to coat evenly.
- Simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the chicken.
- Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use chicken thighs for a juicier version.
- Double the sauce if serving with rice or noodles.
- Adjust spice level by increasing or omitting red pepper flakes.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Reheat in a skillet with a splash of water or broth to maintain sauce consistency.
