Description

These Honey Garlic Beef Lettuce Wraps are a fresh, flavorful, and satisfying dish made with tender sirloin strips, a sweet-savory garlic sauce, and crisp vegetables wrapped in butter lettuce. Perfect for warm days or light meals.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb sirloin, thinly sliced
  • Butter lettuce leaves (enough for 7–8 wraps)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 3/4 cup sweet onion, diced
  • 3/4 cup sweet mini red bell pepper, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger or 1/2 tsp dried ginger
  • Dash of red pepper flakes
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1 heaping teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 cups Asian Chopped Salad Mix

Instructions

  1. Place the sirloin in the freezer for 20 minutes to firm it up for easier slicing. Remove and slice thinly across the grain.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, ginger, red pepper flakes, orange juice, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  3. Dice the peppers and onions; mince the garlic.
  4. Heat sesame oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the meat strips, onions, peppers, and garlic. Stir-fry until the beef is cooked but still slightly pink to avoid overcooking.
  5. Remove the beef and vegetables from the pan. Wipe the pan clean.
  6. Add the sauce to the pan and cook on low heat until thickened.
  7. Return the beef mixture to the pan and stir to coat thoroughly.
  8. Add the 2 cups of slaw mix and stir lightly.
  9. Spoon the beef mixture into butter lettuce leaves and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use ribeye or another tender steak if preferred.
  • Swap the slaw mix with shredded cabbage or add fresh vegetables like carrots or cucumber.
  • Add more red pepper flakes or chili paste for extra heat.
  • Assemble wraps just before serving to prevent soggy lettuce.
  • For a heartier meal, serve with rice or quinoa.
