Description

These Honey-BBQ Oven-Baked Ribs are tender, juicy, and full of flavor thanks to a simple dry rub and a sticky-sweet honey barbecue glaze. Baked low and slow in the oven, they’re easy to prepare and perfect for a comforting dinner or casual gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 slab halal lamb ribs (approximately 4 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce (your favorite variety)
  • 1 tablespoon paprika (regular or smoked)
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar, packed
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (149°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Place the ribs on the baking sheet, meaty side up.
  3. In a small bowl, combine honey and barbecue sauce. Brush the mixture evenly over the ribs.
  4. In another bowl, mix paprika, brown sugar, and salt. Sprinkle the dry rub over the glazed ribs and gently pat it into the surface.
  5. Bake the ribs uncovered for 1 hour.
  6. After 1 hour, remove the ribs and loosely cover with foil. Return to the oven and bake for another 30 to 60 minutes, until fork-tender.
  7. Optional: For extra caramelization, broil the ribs for 3–5 minutes at the end of baking.
  8. Let the ribs rest for 3–5 minutes before slicing between the bones and serving.

Notes

  • Add cayenne or chili powder to the rub for heat.
  • Use smoked paprika for extra depth.
  • Try mixing different BBQ sauces to customize the flavor.
  • Works well with halal beef ribs—adjust cook time as needed.
  • Broil briefly at the end for a crispy glaze.
