Description
These Honey-BBQ Oven-Baked Ribs are tender, juicy, and full of flavor thanks to a simple dry rub and a sticky-sweet honey barbecue glaze. Baked low and slow in the oven, they’re easy to prepare and perfect for a comforting dinner or casual gathering.
Ingredients
- 1 slab halal lamb ribs (approximately 4 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce (your favorite variety)
- 1 tablespoon paprika (regular or smoked)
- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar, packed
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F (149°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Place the ribs on the baking sheet, meaty side up.
- In a small bowl, combine honey and barbecue sauce. Brush the mixture evenly over the ribs.
- In another bowl, mix paprika, brown sugar, and salt. Sprinkle the dry rub over the glazed ribs and gently pat it into the surface.
- Bake the ribs uncovered for 1 hour.
- After 1 hour, remove the ribs and loosely cover with foil. Return to the oven and bake for another 30 to 60 minutes, until fork-tender.
- Optional: For extra caramelization, broil the ribs for 3–5 minutes at the end of baking.
- Let the ribs rest for 3–5 minutes before slicing between the bones and serving.
Notes
- Add cayenne or chili powder to the rub for heat.
- Use smoked paprika for extra depth.
- Try mixing different BBQ sauces to customize the flavor.
- Works well with halal beef ribs—adjust cook time as needed.
- Broil briefly at the end for a crispy glaze.
