Description

This homemade garlic herb butter is a flavorful compound butter made with fresh herbs and garlic, perfect for elevating steaks, seafood, pasta, vegetables, or spreading over warm bread. Quick to make and easy to store, it’s a gourmet touch ready anytime.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Place the softened butter into a medium mixing bowl and mash until smooth.
  2. Add the minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, and parsley. Mix until evenly combined.
  3. To shape into a log, place the butter mixture on a 12-inch piece of wax paper, roll into a 6- to 8-inch log, and twist the ends to seal.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until firm, or freeze for 30–45 minutes for quicker results.
  5. Slice and use as needed with steak, chicken, shrimp, vegetables, pasta, or bread.

Notes

  • Add lemon zest for brightness.
  • Use red pepper flakes for heat.
  • Swap parsley with cilantro and add lime zest for a vibrant variation.
  • Use roasted garlic for a sweeter flavor.
  • Dairy-free butter can be used for a vegan option.
