Description

A fun and customizable homemade bubble gum with a chewy texture and sweet flavor, perfect for a creative kitchen project.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon food-grade glycerin
  • 1 teaspoon flavor extract
  • food coloring (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt in a saucepan.
  2. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  3. Simmer until mixture reaches a thick syrup (115–120°C).
  4. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  5. Stir in glycerin, flavor extract, and food coloring.
  6. Dust a surface with cornstarch and pour mixture onto it.
  7. Knead until smooth and pliable.
  8. Shape into small pieces or strips.
  9. Let rest for 30 minutes before chewing.

Notes

  • Use different extracts to customize flavor.
  • Add more glycerin for softer gum or less for firmer texture.
  • Knead with cornstarch if too sticky.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
  • Keep in a cool, dry place to maintain texture.
