Description
Juicy, savory-sweet Hawaiian Teriyaki Burgers made with seasoned beef patties, grilled pineapple, red onion, and teriyaki glaze, served on toasted buns. Perfect for weeknight dinners or casual cookouts.
Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds (680 g) ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) teriyaki sauce, divided
- 4 pineapple rings (about 1/2 cup or 120 g), fresh or canned
- 1 small red onion (about 70 g), thinly sliced
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons of teriyaki sauce. Mix gently until just combined.
- Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into burger patties slightly wider than the buns.
- Preheat a grill, grill pan, or skillet over medium heat and oil if needed.
- Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side or until desired doneness. During the last minute, brush with remaining teriyaki sauce.
- Grill or sear pineapple rings for 1–2 minutes per side until lightly caramelized.
- Toast hamburger buns until golden.
- Assemble burgers: place patty on bottom bun, top with grilled pineapple and red onion, then add the top bun. Serve warm.
Notes
- Use ground chicken or turkey for a leaner version.
- Mix teriyaki sauce with mayo for a tasty burger spread.
- Add lettuce or tomato for extra freshness.
- Top with sesame seeds or cheese if desired.
