Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil or vegetable oil, plus more for the grill
2 to 4 medium plums
Instructions
- Clean and oil grill grates, then preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 3–4 seconds hand test above the grate).
- Rinse and dry the plums. Cut in half around the pits and remove the pits.
- Brush cut sides of plums with oil.
- Place plums cut-side down on the hot grill. Cover and cook for about 5 minutes until tender and grill-marked.
- Serve hot or warm based on your preference.
Notes
- Use firm, slightly underripe plums to help them hold their shape.
- Add flaky salt, black pepper, or herbs for a savory version.
- Top with vanilla ice cream, yogurt, or ricotta for dessert.
- Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, or cardamom for a caramelized finish.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat in a skillet or enjoy cold.
