Ingredients
- For the Pudding:
- 4 cups soft bread cubes
- 2 cups peeled and sliced apples
- ¼ cup raisins
- 1 ¾ cups milk
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup butter
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- For the Vanilla Sauce:
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup butter
- ¼ cup white sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 7×11-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine bread cubes, apples, and raisins.
- In a saucepan, heat milk, brown sugar, and butter until butter melts. Pour over bread mixture and stir to coat.
- Transfer to prepared dish.
- Whisk eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla together. Pour evenly over bread mixture.
- Bake 40–50 minutes, until center is set and apples are tender.
- For sauce: In a saucepan, combine milk, butter, white sugar, and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Serve pudding warm with vanilla sauce drizzled on top.
