Description

A rich and comforting dish featuring tender garlic-butter steak bites paired with cheese-filled tortellini tossed in a creamy Alfredo sauce. A decadent, restaurant-quality meal perfect for weeknights or special dinners.

Ingredients

  • lbs (≈ 680 g) steak bites (sirloin or ribeye recommended)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (20 oz ≈ 560 g) package cheese tortellini (fresh or refrigerated)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for the Alfredo sauce)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1½ cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook tortellini according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 3 tablespoons of butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  3. Add steak bites in a single layer, season with salt and pepper, and sear each side for 2–3 minutes or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and set aside, keeping the garlic-butter drippings in the pan.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add 2 tablespoons butter, then pour in heavy cream. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and thickened, about 4–5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Add the cooked tortellini to the Alfredo sauce and toss to coat evenly. Let simmer for 1–2 minutes to meld flavors.
  7. Return the steak bites to the skillet and stir gently to warm and combine with pasta.
  8. Serve warm, topped with remaining garlic butter from the pan and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor and smooth sauce.
  • Don’t overcrowd the skillet when searing steak to ensure a proper crust.
  • If the sauce thickens too much, add a splash of cream or milk to loosen.
