Description

Garlic butter cheese sticks are crispy on the edges, soft in the center, and loaded with melted mozzarella and Parmesan. Made with pizza dough and brushed with garlic butter, they’re the perfect quick appetizer, snack, or side dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or 2 cloves fresh garlic, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Roll or stretch the pizza dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, olive oil, garlic powder or minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and salt.
  4. Brush the garlic butter mixture generously over the surface of the dough.
  5. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over the dough, then top with Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden.
  7. Remove from the oven and brush with extra garlic butter if desired. Sprinkle with parsley or red pepper flakes.
  8. Slice into sticks and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Use low-moisture mozzarella to prevent soggy dough.
  • For a sharper flavor, mix cheddar into the cheese blend.
  • Add fresh garlic after baking for extra punch.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat in the oven for best texture.
  • Customize with olives, mushrooms, or peppers before baking.
