Description

Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) sea scallops, cleaned and patted dry
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (panko recommended)
- 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a small bowl, combine melted butter, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Arrange scallops in a single layer in a baking dish. Pour garlic butter mixture evenly over scallops.
- In another bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, and parsley. Sprinkle mixture over scallops.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until scallops are opaque and topping is golden.
- Optional: Broil for 1–2 minutes for extra crispness.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges and garnish with more parsley if desired.
Notes
- Use large sea scallops for best results.
- Pat scallops completely dry before baking to ensure a nice texture.
- Add a splash of dry white wine to the garlic butter for extra depth of flavour.
- For a spicy kick, stir in a pinch of red pepper flakes into the butter mixture.
