Description

Funnel Cake Bites are a bite-sized take on the classic carnival favorite—crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, and dusted with powdered sugar. Perfect for parties or indulgent snacking.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Batter should be thick but pourable.
  4. Heat about 3 inches of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Transfer the batter to a piping bag or zip-top bag with a small hole cut in one corner.
  6. Pipe small dollops or spirals of batter into the hot oil in batches.
  7. Fry each batch for 2–3 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan—fry in batches for even cooking.
  • Use a thermometer to maintain the oil temperature at 350°F for best results.
