Ingredients
- 8 oz Halloumi cheese
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 1/2 tsp Aleppo pepper
- 1/2 tsp Sumac
- 1 tsp Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Slice the halloumi into ½-inch thick pieces and pat dry with a paper towel.
- Heat olive oil in a nonstick pan over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Fry the halloumi slices for about 2 minutes per side, until golden and crispy.
- Warm the honey slightly and drizzle over the fried halloumi.
- Sprinkle Aleppo pepper, sumac, and sesame seeds on top.
- Serve immediately while the halloumi is hot and creamy inside.
Notes
- Cut halloumi into sticks for a ‘fries’ variation.
- Swap Aleppo pepper with red pepper flakes for a different spice profile.
- Try chili-infused honey or pomegranate molasses instead of regular honey.
- Fried halloumi is best served fresh but can be stored for up to 2 days.
- Use leftovers cold in salads or sandwiches.
