Description

Individual no-bake tiramisu trifle cups made eggless, with espresso-soaked cake, creamy mascarpone filling, whipped cream topping, and a dusting of cocoa powder. Elegant, portioned desserts perfect for parties or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons milk powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream (for topping)
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a baking sheet.
  2. Sift together flour, milk powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk sugar and oil until combined. Add yogurt and vanilla. Alternate adding dry mixture with milk until just combined.
  4. Spread batter on the prepared baking sheet and bake ~14 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool, then cut into rounds for cups.
  5. Chill a mixing bowl and beaters for 10 minutes. Whip cream, powdered sugar, and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
  6. In another bowl, beat mascarpone with powdered sugar and coffee liqueur until smooth. Fold in whipped cream gently.
  7. Prepare soak: whisk water, instant coffee, sugar, and vanilla until dissolved.
  8. Dip each cake round quickly into espresso soak.
  9. Assemble cups: layer dipped cake → mascarpone cream → dipped cake → mascarpone cream, repeating for ~3 layers.
  10. Top with whipped cream and dust with cocoa powder.
  11. Chill at least 4–6 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

  • Do not over-soak cake pieces or they will fall apart.
  • Assembled cups taste best after chilling overnight.
  • Substitute ladyfingers or store-bought cake for convenience.
  • Omit coffee liqueur for a kid-friendly version.
  • Best consumed within 2 days.
