Ingredients
- 24 ounces cheese tortellini
- 1 pound Italian-style sausage (beef or chicken)
- 32 ounces marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, grated
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook tortellini according to package instructions, reducing time by 2–3 minutes. Drain.
- In a skillet, cook sausage and onion over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Add marinara sauce to the sausage mixture and simmer briefly.
- Combine cooked tortellini with the sauce mixture.
- Layer half of the mixture in the baking dish and top with half of the mozzarella.
- Add remaining tortellini mixture and top with remaining cheese.
- Bake for 20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest briefly before serving.
