Description
Rich, chocolatey baked donuts made with cocoa and protein powder—perfect for a satisfying, high-protein treat or post-workout snack.
Ingredients
- 1 cup oat flour
- 1/2 cup chocolate protein powder
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional glaze: 1/2 cup chocolate chips + 1 tablespoon coconut oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together oat flour, chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until just combined.
- Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
- Let donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the glaze (optional): melt chocolate chips with coconut oil until smooth. Dip each donut top into the glaze and let set.
- Serve and enjoy.
Notes
- Use a protein powder you enjoy the flavor of—whey or plant-based both work.
- You can skip the glaze for a lighter option.
- Add chopped nuts or sprinkles on top of the glaze for extra crunch and flair.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate to extend freshness.
- Donuts can be frozen once cooled and glaze is set.
