Description

This deep-dish hamburger beef sausage and pepperoni pie combines the bold flavors of pizza with the comfort of a savory pie. Layered with seasoned meats, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella inside a flaky crust, it’s hearty, cheesy, and perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound beef sausage
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch deep-dish pie crust
  • 1 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and beef sausage for 7–10 minutes, breaking apart, until fully browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Remove from heat.
  4. Place the unbaked deep-dish pie crust into a 9-inch deep-dish pie pan, pressing into the bottom and sides.
  5. Sprinkle 1 cup mozzarella evenly over the bottom of the crust.
  6. Layer half of the cooked meat mixture over the cheese.
  7. Spread 1/2 cup pizza sauce over the meat.
  8. Add 1/2 cup pepperoni slices evenly on top.
  9. Repeat layers with remaining meat, sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni.
  10. Bake for 25–30 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly and crust edges are golden brown.
  11. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Drain meat thoroughly to prevent a greasy filling.
  • Place cheese on the bottom layer to help prevent a soggy crust.
  • If crust browns too quickly, cover edges loosely with foil.
  • Store refrigerated for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze fully baked pie for up to 2 months.
  • Internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
