Description

This crustless pizza bake is a low-carb, gluten-free casserole packed with classic pizza flavors—savory sausage, marinara, melty cheese, and hearty vegetables—without the crust. It’s perfect for busy weeknights or family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound halal beef or chicken Italian-style sausage
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
  3. Add onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for 3–5 minutes until vegetables begin to soften.
  4. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread 1/2 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom.
  5. In a bowl, combine cooked sausage and vegetables with 1 cup marinara and 1 cup mozzarella. Stir to combine.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the baking dish and spread evenly.
  7. Top with the remaining 2 cups of mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Broil for 3–5 minutes for a golden top if desired.
  9. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
