Description
Crunchy Beef Cheese Wraps are golden, crispy flour tortillas filled with seasoned beef, melted cheese, and savory spices. Baked to perfection, these wraps are a delicious, mess-free alternative to fried crunch wraps—perfect for quick dinners, lunches, or game-day snacks.
Ingredients
- For the Beef Filling:
- 1 pound (450 g) ground beef
- ½ cup finely diced yellow onion
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tablespoons homemade blend)
- ½ cup water
- For the Wraps:
- 6 large flour tortillas (10-inch)
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- ¼ cup melted unsalted butter or neutral oil (for brushing)
- Optional for Serving:
- Sour cream
- Salsa or hot sauce
- Fresh chopped cilantro
- Lime wedges
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease with oil.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes.
- Add diced onion and garlic; cook 2–3 minutes until softened.
- Stir in taco seasoning and water; simmer for about 3 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Mix in shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses until melted and combined.
- Warm tortillas to make them pliable. Place about ½ cup of filling in the center of each tortilla.
- Fold the sides inward, then roll up tightly to form a wrap, keeping the seam side down.
- Brush each wrap with melted butter or oil and arrange on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crisp.
- Serve hot with sour cream, salsa, cilantro, or lime wedges as desired.
Notes
- Use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
- Add cream cheese to the beef for extra creaminess.
- Brush wraps generously with butter or oil for maximum crunch.
- Freeze unbaked wraps for up to 3 months; bake directly from frozen, adding 5 minutes to the time.
- Reheat in an air fryer or oven for best crispiness—avoid microwaving.
