Ingredients
- 500g large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko or regular breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying
- Skewers (wooden or metal)
- 3 tbsp mayo
- 2 tbsp Greek yogurt or sour cream
- 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
- ½ tsp lime zest
- 1 tsp honey (for dip)
- A pinch of chili flakes or hot sauce (optional)
- Salt to taste (for dip)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix shrimp with garlic, honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Marinate for 15–20 minutes.
- Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
- Dredge each shrimp in flour, then dip in egg, and finally coat in breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the shrimp for 1–2 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- Thread fried shrimp onto skewers. Drizzle or brush with a glaze made from warm honey and a touch of soy sauce.
- In a small bowl, combine mayo, yogurt, lime juice, lime zest, honey, chili flakes, and salt. Mix until smooth to make the dip.
- Arrange shrimp skewers on a serving platter. Serve with the tangy lime dip on the side.
