Description

These crispy fried cheese and turkey wontons have a golden crunchy shell with a warm, creamy, savory filling. Perfect as an easy appetizer or party snack served with your favorite dipping sauce.

Ingredients

  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 120 g turkey, finely chopped
  • 200 g cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, mozzarella, chopped turkey, green onions, garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika. Mix until smooth and evenly blended.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the beaten egg with water to create an egg wash.
  3. Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface and add about 1 teaspoon of filling in the center.
  4. Brush edges with egg wash, fold into a triangle or bring corners together to form a pouch, and seal firmly.
  5. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling, keeping finished wontons covered with a damp towel.
  6. Heat about 5 cm of vegetable oil in a deep pan to 175°C.
  7. Fry wontons in batches for 2 to 3 minutes, turning as needed, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  9. Serve hot with your preferred dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Do not overfill wontons to prevent bursting أثناء frying.
  • Keep oil temperature steady for best crispiness.
  • Swap mozzarella with cheddar or a cheese blend for different flavor.
  • Add jalapeños or herbs for variation.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator up to 3 days and reheat in oven or air fryer.
  • Uncooked wontons can be frozen and fried directly from frozen.
