Description

A rich and comforting seafood lasagna layered with creamy white sauce, tender shrimp, crab meat, and cheese. Perfect for special occasions or a cozy dinner.

Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
  • 225 g shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 225 g crab meat or imitation crab, flaked
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes until pink. Stir in crab meat and remove from heat.
  4. In the same skillet, whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk and cream.
  5. Simmer sauce for 3–5 minutes until thickened. Stir in lemon juice, Parmesan, and half of the mozzarella. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Spread a thin layer of sauce in the baking dish. Layer noodles, ricotta, seafood, and sauce. Repeat layers, finishing with sauce and remaining mozzarella.
  7. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until bubbly and golden. Let rest for 10 minutes.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure sauce is thickened before layering to prevent watery lasagna.
  • Imitation crab is a budget-friendly alternative to real crab.
  • Letting the lasagna rest before slicing helps layers hold together.
  • Vegetables like spinach or mushrooms can be added for variation.
