Description

Creamy Garlic Chicken is a rich and flavorful dish with tender chicken breasts seared to golden perfection and smothered in a creamy, garlic-infused sauce. This dish is perfect for pairing with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.

Ingredients

2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts

Salt/Pepper

3 teaspoons Italian seasonings

⅓ cup flour

4 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, shredded

3 tablespoons olive oil

2 ½ cups chicken broth

1 beef bouillon cube or 1 tsp better than bouillon

1 teaspoon low sodium soy sauce (or Worcestershire sauce)

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon dried thyme

½ teaspoon mustard powder

3 tablespoons butter

10 whole garlic cloves

3 tablespoons flour

½ cup heavy cream

½ cup Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice the chicken in half lengthwise to create 2-3 thinner slices. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Dredge in a flour-Parmesan mixture and tap off excess.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Set aside.
  3. Melt butter in the same skillet and caramelize the garlic cloves for 6-7 minutes. Add flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually add chicken broth, beef bouillon, soy sauce, onion powder, mustard powder, and thyme. Stir in heavy cream, bring to a boil, then simmer.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese. Add the chicken back to the skillet and spoon the sauce on top. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Add sautéed mushrooms to the sauce for extra flavor.
  • Use smaller chicken breasts (3-4) if preferred.
  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half.
  • This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes, roasted green beans, or a side salad.
  • Substitute the beef bouillon cube with vegetable broth or extra chicken broth for a lighter flavor.
