Ingredients
- 1 loaf crusty Italian bread (about 16 ounces)
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Chop the shrimp into small, bite-size pieces and pat them dry with paper towels.
- In a large bowl, combine chopped shrimp, cream cheese, mozzarella, parsley, garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix until evenly blended.
- Slice the Italian bread in half lengthwise and hollow out the center of each half, leaving about ½-inch shell.
- Spoon the shrimp mixture into each hollowed bread half, pressing gently to fill evenly.
- Brush the outer crust of the bread with melted butter.
- Wrap each filled bread half in aluminum foil and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes.
- Unwrap the foil and bake uncovered for another 5 minutes, until the top is golden and the filling is bubbling.
- Remove from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.

- Lemon zest or smoked paprika adds extra flavor depth.
- Use small rolls for individual portions and adjust baking time accordingly.
- Assemble ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to bake.
