Description

Soft, buttery cookies made with cornstarch and sweetened condensed milk that melt in your mouth. Simple, eggless, and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup (150 g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups (250 g) cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract or almond extract (optional)
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) powdered sugar, for dusting after baking (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, beat the softened butter until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add sweetened condensed milk and mix until fully incorporated and fluffy. Stir in extract if using.
  4. Gradually add cornstarch and mix gently until a soft dough forms.
  5. Roll dough into small balls (about 1 tablespoon each) and place on baking sheet with space between.
  6. Lightly flatten each cookie with fingers or a fork, if desired.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes until the bottoms are set but tops remain pale.
  8. Remove from oven and cool completely before handling.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

  • Use only cornstarch, not flour, for the melt-away texture.
  • Do not overbake—the cookies should not brown on top.
  • Flavor variations include lemon zest, cocoa powder, shredded coconut, or espresso powder.
  • Store at room temperature for 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
