Description

These 4-ingredient cocoa energy balls are naturally sweet, rich in chocolate flavor, and require no baking. Made with Medjool dates, oats, cocoa, and almond butter, they are a quick, healthy snack with no added sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pitted Medjool dates (about 160 g)
  • 1 cup rolled oats (90 g)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (10 g)
  • 2 tablespoons smooth almond butter (32 g)

Instructions

  1. Add pitted dates to a food processor and blend for 20–30 seconds until a sticky paste forms. If using dry dates, soak in warm water for 5 minutes and drain before blending.
  2. Add rolled oats, cocoa powder, and almond butter to the food processor. Pulse until the mixture combines into a thick dough.
  3. Scoop 1 tablespoon portions and roll into balls between your palms. If the mixture is too soft, chill for 10 minutes before rolling.
  4. Enjoy immediately or refrigerate for a firmer texture.

Notes

  • Use certified gluten-free oats to make this recipe gluten-free.
  • For a deeper chocolate flavor, add an extra teaspoon of cocoa powder.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 7 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
