Description

Cinnamon Swirl Bread French Toast is a quick and comforting breakfast made with thick slices of cinnamon swirl bread dipped in a vanilla egg custard and pan-fried until golden. It’s soft on the inside, lightly crisp on the outside, and full of cozy cinnamon flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup whole milk (or any milk of choice)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 4 slices cinnamon swirl bread (preferably thick-cut)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, for frying
  • Optional toppings: maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh berries

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together the milk, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  2. Dip each slice of cinnamon swirl bread into the custard mixture, soaking both sides for a few seconds. Do not oversoak.
  3. Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add the butter and let it melt completely and foam.
  4. Place soaked bread slices in the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes on one side until golden brown.
  5. Flip and cook the other side for 1–2 more minutes, until golden and cooked through.
  6. Remove from skillet and serve immediately with your favorite toppings like maple syrup or fresh berries.
