Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 oz chocolate (milk or dark), chopped

Instructions

  1. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until smooth.
  2. Add vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  3. Mix in the flour and salt until the dough is crumbly.
  4. Press the dough together into a ball, wrap it, and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Shape chilled dough into a rectangle and slice into ½-inch thick cookies.
  7. Place cookies 2 inches apart on the baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes until edges are golden.
  8. Cool cookies completely on a wire rack.
  9. Melt the chopped chocolate in a saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth.
  10. Dip each cooled cookie halfway into the melted chocolate and place on wax paper.
  11. Refrigerate cookies for about 20 minutes until the chocolate sets.
