Description

These chocolate chip cream cheese cookies are incredibly soft and rich with a tender, creamy interior. Cream cheese adds a subtle tang and melt-in-your-mouth texture, making these cookies extra special and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
  4. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are set and lightly golden. Centers should remain soft.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use full-fat cream cheese for best texture.
  • No need to chill the dough, but optional chilling yields slightly thicker cookies.
  • Swap chocolate chips for dark, white, or milk chocolate, or mix in nuts or dried fruit.
