Description

Soft slider buns filled with tender chicken coated in a sticky, sweet-savory Chinese-inspired sauce, perfect for parties or casual meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha or chili garlic sauce (optional)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 68 slider buns
  • Optional toppings: sliced cucumbers, shredded lettuce, chopped green onions, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Toss chicken pieces with soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and garlic powder. Marinate for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sriracha in a small bowl. Set aside.
  3. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add oil and cook chicken until golden brown and fully cooked, 5–7 minutes.
  4. Pour sauce over the cooked chicken, stirring to coat evenly. Simmer 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens.
  5. Slice slider buns and lightly toast if desired. Spoon saucy chicken onto bottom halves of buns. Add optional toppings.
  6. Place top buns on sliders and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use shredded rotisserie chicken for a quicker version.
  • Add pickled carrots or daikon for extra crunch.
  • Substitute chicken with tofu for a vegetarian option.
  • Adjust spiciness with extra sriracha or chili flakes.
  • Make mini sliders for appetizers or larger ones for a filling meal.
  • Store leftover chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days; keep buns separate to avoid sogginess.
  • Reheat chicken in a skillet or microwave and assemble sliders fresh.
