Description

Soft homemade bread filled with a creamy blend of spinach, ricotta, and mozzarella, baked until golden and perfectly melty.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl and let sit until frothy.
  2. Add olive oil, flour, and salt, mixing into a soft dough.
  3. Knead dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking sheet.
  6. Mix mozzarella, ricotta, spinach, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  7. Divide dough into 6 portions and shape into circles.
  8. Add filling to each, fold, and seal tightly.
  9. Place seam-side down on baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Cool slightly and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use frozen spinach if well drained.
  • Add olives or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • Brush with garlic butter before baking for a richer crust.
  • Seal edges היטightly to prevent filling leakage.
