Soft homemade bread filled with a creamy blend of spinach, ricotta, and mozzarella, baked until golden and perfectly melty.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl and let sit until frothy.
- Add olive oil, flour, and salt, mixing into a soft dough.
- Knead dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking sheet.
- Mix mozzarella, ricotta, spinach, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Divide dough into 6 portions and shape into circles.
- Add filling to each, fold, and seal tightly.
- Place seam-side down on baking sheet.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly and serve warm.
Notes
- Use frozen spinach if well drained.
- Add olives or mushrooms for extra flavor.
- Brush with garlic butter before baking for a richer crust.
- Seal edges היטightly to prevent filling leakage.
- Reheat in oven for best texture.
