Description

These Cheesy Chicken Sliders are melty, savory, and tangy mini sandwiches baked on sweet Hawaiian rolls with shredded chicken, two cheeses, dill pickles, and a buttery Dijon glaze—perfect for parties or easy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • Cooking spray
  • 1 (12 oz) package Hawaiian sweet rolls (such as King’s Hawaiian)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken breast
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce (such as sriracha or cholula)
  • 12 slices Pepper Jack cheese
  • 1 cup sliced dill pickles
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Coat a 13 x 9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Without separating the rolls, slice them in half horizontally using a serrated knife to create a top and bottom layer. Place the bottom half in the prepared dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, dry mustard, salt, and pepper. Fold in shredded chicken, shredded Cheddar cheese, and hot sauce.
  4. Layer half of the Pepper Jack cheese slices over the bottom layer of rolls.
  5. Spread the chicken mixture evenly over the cheese layer, then add sliced dill pickles.
  6. Top with the remaining Pepper Jack cheese slices and place the top half of the rolls over the filling.
  7. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Drizzle evenly over the rolls.
  8. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20–25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and tops are golden and crisp.
  9. Remove from oven, slice into individual sliders, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken to save time and effort.
  • Assemble sliders ahead of time and bake just before serving.
  • Substitute Greek yogurt or sour cream for a lighter filling.
  • Wrap and freeze individual sliders for a make-ahead meal or snack.
  • For extra crispness, uncover during the last 5 minutes of baking.
