Description
These Cheesy Chicken Sliders are melty, savory, and tangy mini sandwiches baked on sweet Hawaiian rolls with shredded chicken, two cheeses, dill pickles, and a buttery Dijon glaze—perfect for parties or easy weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- Cooking spray
- 1 (12 oz) package Hawaiian sweet rolls (such as King’s Hawaiian)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups shredded cooked chicken breast
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce (such as sriracha or cholula)
- 12 slices Pepper Jack cheese
- 1 cup sliced dill pickles
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Coat a 13 x 9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Without separating the rolls, slice them in half horizontally using a serrated knife to create a top and bottom layer. Place the bottom half in the prepared dish.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, dry mustard, salt, and pepper. Fold in shredded chicken, shredded Cheddar cheese, and hot sauce.
- Layer half of the Pepper Jack cheese slices over the bottom layer of rolls.
- Spread the chicken mixture evenly over the cheese layer, then add sliced dill pickles.
- Top with the remaining Pepper Jack cheese slices and place the top half of the rolls over the filling.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Drizzle evenly over the rolls.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20–25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and tops are golden and crisp.
- Remove from oven, slice into individual sliders, and serve warm.
Notes
- Use rotisserie chicken to save time and effort.
- Assemble sliders ahead of time and bake just before serving.
- Substitute Greek yogurt or sour cream for a lighter filling.
- Wrap and freeze individual sliders for a make-ahead meal or snack.
- For extra crispness, uncover during the last 5 minutes of baking.
