Description
Cheeseburger egg rolls combine the juicy, savory flavors of a cheeseburger in a crispy, handheld wrapper. Perfect for parties, snacks, or game day appetizers.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely diced (about ½ cup)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp salt, or to taste
- ½ tsp black pepper, or to taste
- 1 tsp seasoned salt
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup yellow mustard
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or American cheese
- ½ cup dill pickle relish or finely chopped dill pickles
- 12 to 15 egg roll wrappers
- Vegetable oil, enough for frying
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes, breaking up the meat, until the beef is fully browned and the onion is soft. Drain off excess grease.
- Season the beef mixture with salt, black pepper, seasoned salt, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well to evenly distribute the seasoning.
- Add the ketchup and mustard to the skillet and stir until fully combined. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly, about 5 minutes.
- Fold in the shredded cheese and pickle relish until evenly mixed.
- Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner facing you. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of filling to the center. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, fold in the sides, then roll tightly and seal the edge with water.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the egg rolls in batches for 3 to 4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crisp.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
Notes
- Air fry at 380°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Bake at 400°F for 15–18 minutes, turning once.
- Don’t overfill egg rolls to avoid bursting during cooking.
- Use smoked cheddar for a richer flavor variation.
- Freeze uncooked egg rolls for up to 2 months.
