Description

Soft and fluffy bread rolls filled with gooey melted cheese, baked to golden perfection. These comforting rolls are perfect as a snack, appetizer, or side dish.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm milk and olive oil, then mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  5. Punch down and divide into 10–12 portions.
  6. Flatten each piece, add cheese filling, and seal into balls.
  7. Place seam-side down on a lined baking tray and rest for 20–30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  9. Brush rolls with egg yolk mixed with milk.
  10. Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Cool slightly and serve warm.

  • Use different cheeses like gouda or feta for variation.
