A quick and indulgent dessert featuring bananas caramelized in a buttery, sweet sauce with hints of cinnamon and vanilla.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced into thick rounds
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Slice bananas into even 1/2 inch rounds.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add brown sugar and honey or maple syrup, stirring until smooth and bubbling.
  4. Add cinnamon and a pinch of salt, mixing well.
  5. Place banana slices in a single layer and cook for 1–2 minutes without stirring.
  6. Flip gently and cook another 1–2 minutes until caramelized.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  8. Serve warm with extra caramel sauce.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm bananas for best texture.
