Description

These caramel apple dessert cups combine warm cinnamon apples, a crunchy biscuit base, and rich caramel sauce for a cozy, fall-inspired treat. Perfectly portioned and easy to assemble, they’re ideal for gatherings, family dinners, or make-ahead desserts.

Ingredients

  • Cinnamon apple filling:
    • 34 cups apples, peeled and finely diced (about 2 large apples)
    • ½ cup light brown sugar, packed
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Crumb base:
    • 1 cup crushed digestive biscuits or graham crackers
    • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
    • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • Caramel layer:
    • ½ cup thick caramel sauce
  • Optional topping:
    • ½ cup whipped cream or vanilla cream

Instructions

  1. Make the crumb base: Mix crushed biscuits, melted butter, and sugar in a bowl until the texture resembles wet sand. Divide and press evenly into the base of 4 small dessert cups. Set aside.
  2. Cook the apples: In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook for 8–10 minutes until soft and caramelized. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Assemble: Spoon the cinnamon apples over the crumb base. Drizzle with caramel sauce. Top with whipped cream if using.
  4. Serve: Serve warm or refrigerate for 1–2 hours for a chilled version.

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for best results.
  • For a dairy-free version, use plant-based butter and coconut cream topping.
  • Can substitute the biscuit base with granola or oats for added texture.
