Description
These Cajun Garlic Butter Grilled Shrimp Skewers are juicy, smoky, and bursting with bold Cajun flavor. Grilled to perfection and brushed with garlicky butter and lemon, they make a quick and impressive main dish or appetizer.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined, tails on
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) salted butter, melted
- 3 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Skewers (wooden or metal)
- Optional: lemon slices for garnish
Instructions
- If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, 2 tsp Cajun seasoning, parsley, garlic, and lemon juice. Reserve half for basting.
- Place shrimp in a bowl, pour remaining butter mixture over them, and add 1 tsp Cajun seasoning. Toss to coat.
- Thread shrimp onto skewers and place on a tray for easy handling.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Grill shrimp skewers 3–4 minutes per side, until pink, opaque, and slightly charred.
- Brush skewers with reserved butter sauce just before serving. Reheat sauce briefly if solidified.
- Serve hot with fresh lemon slices.
Notes
- Add red pepper flakes or hot sauce for extra spice.
- Swap parsley with cilantro or chives for a flavor twist.
- Use scallops or firm white fish instead of shrimp.
- Thread bell peppers, onions, or cherry tomatoes for added color and texture.
- No grill? Broil in the oven for 3–4 minutes per side.
