Description
Tender-crisp green beans tossed in rich garlic butter and seasoned with lemon-pepper for a fresh, flavorful side dish that’s ready in just 15 minutes.
Ingredients
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed and halved
3 tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/8 tsp lemon-pepper seasoning (or more to taste)
Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Place green beans in a large skillet and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 3–5 minutes, until just starting to soften.
- Drain beans and return them to the skillet.
- Add butter and stir until melted, about 1–2 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant, 1–2 minutes more.
- Season with lemon-pepper and salt. Serve hot and glossy.
Notes
- Replace lemon-pepper with fresh lemon juice, zest, and black pepper for a brighter flavor.
- Add toasted almond slices or chopped walnuts for crunch.
- Finish with a sprinkle of Parmesan for a savory touch.
- Sauté onions or shallots before adding green beans for extra depth.
- Parboil beans ahead of time for faster prep.
