Description

Tender-crisp green beans tossed in rich garlic butter and seasoned with lemon-pepper for a fresh, flavorful side dish that’s ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed and halved

3 tbsp butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/8 tsp lemon-pepper seasoning (or more to taste)

Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Place green beans in a large skillet and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 3–5 minutes, until just starting to soften.
  2. Drain beans and return them to the skillet.
  3. Add butter and stir until melted, about 1–2 minutes.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant, 1–2 minutes more.
  5. Season with lemon-pepper and salt. Serve hot and glossy.

Notes

  • Replace lemon-pepper with fresh lemon juice, zest, and black pepper for a brighter flavor.
  • Add toasted almond slices or chopped walnuts for crunch.
  • Finish with a sprinkle of Parmesan for a savory touch.
  • Sauté onions or shallots before adding green beans for extra depth.
  • Parboil beans ahead of time for faster prep.
