Description

These Buttery Garlic Green Beans are a quick and easy side dish made with fresh green beans, garlic, and butter, finished with lemon-pepper seasoning for a bright, savory flavor. They’re ready in just 15 minutes and pair well with any main course.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed and snapped in half
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/8 tsp lemon-pepper seasoning (or more to taste)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Place green beans in a large skillet and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to medium-low and simmer for 3–5 minutes until just beginning to soften.
  2. Drain the beans and return them to the skillet.
  3. Add butter and stir until melted, about 1–2 minutes.
  4. Stir in garlic and cook for another 1–2 minutes until fragrant and tender.
  5. Season with lemon-pepper seasoning and salt. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Substitute lemon-pepper seasoning with fresh lemon zest, juice, and cracked black pepper for a brighter flavor.
  • Add sautéed onions, shallots, or mushrooms for extra depth.
  • Use red pepper flakes for a spicy variation.
  • Steaming instead of boiling is a great alternative method.
  • To keep beans bright green, slightly undercook and sauté quickly.
