Description
These Buttery Garlic Green Beans are a quick and easy side dish made with fresh green beans, garlic, and butter, finished with lemon-pepper seasoning for a bright, savory flavor. They’re ready in just 15 minutes and pair well with any main course.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed and snapped in half
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/8 tsp lemon-pepper seasoning (or more to taste)
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Place green beans in a large skillet and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to medium-low and simmer for 3–5 minutes until just beginning to soften.
- Drain the beans and return them to the skillet.
- Add butter and stir until melted, about 1–2 minutes.
- Stir in garlic and cook for another 1–2 minutes until fragrant and tender.
- Season with lemon-pepper seasoning and salt. Serve warm.
Notes
- Substitute lemon-pepper seasoning with fresh lemon zest, juice, and cracked black pepper for a brighter flavor.
- Add sautéed onions, shallots, or mushrooms for extra depth.
- Use red pepper flakes for a spicy variation.
- Steaming instead of boiling is a great alternative method.
- To keep beans bright green, slightly undercook and sauté quickly.
