The Bramble is a sophisticated gin-based cocktail with fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and a float of blackberry liqueur over crushed ice. It’s fruity, crisp, and visually stunning—perfect for warm weather sipping.
Ingredients
2 oz gin
1 oz fresh lemon juice
2 tsp simple syrup
½ oz crème de mûre (blackberry liqueur)
Garnish: lemon half-wheel and fresh blackberry
Instructions
- Fill a shaker with ice and add gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
- Shake well until chilled (about 30 seconds).
- Fine-strain into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice.
- Slowly pour crème de mûre over the top so it floats through the drink.
- Garnish with a lemon half-wheel and a fresh blackberry.
Notes
- Crème de cassis or Chambord can replace crème de mûre.
- Muddle fresh blackberries in the glass for a natural berry flavor.
- Stirring the crème de mûre into the drink gives a more integrated taste.
- Use a citrus-forward dry gin like Tanqueray or Beefeater for best results.
- Best served immediately over fresh crushed ice.
