Description
Juicy chicken cubes are seasoned, skewered, and cooked to perfection using your preferred method—grill, oven, or air fryer—then drizzled or dipped in a creamy, spicy, tangy bang bang sauce. A bold and balanced dish ideal as an appetizer, snack, or main course.
Ingredients
- 500g chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Wooden skewers (soaked if grilling or baking)
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1–2 tsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss chicken cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes (or up to 2 hours).
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice. Adjust spice level to taste. Set aside.
- Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto soaked skewers. Optionally, alternate with vegetables like bell peppers, onions, or zucchini.
- Grill method: Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Grill skewers for 4–5 minutes per side until fully cooked and lightly charred.
- Oven method: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake skewers on a lined tray for 20–25 minutes, flipping once halfway through.
- Air fryer method: Preheat to 375°F (190°C). Cook skewers for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and cooked through.
- Drizzle bang bang sauce over cooked chicken skewers or serve it on the side as a dipping sauce.
- Garnish with chopped green onions or herbs if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
- Use chicken thighs for a juicier result.
- Add vegetables to skewers for extra texture and nutrition.
- Reduce sriracha for a milder sauce or swap with a milder hot sauce.
- Substitute Greek yogurt for part of the mayo for a tangier, lighter sauce.
- Ensure skewers are soaked if using wooden ones to avoid burning.
