Description

A moist and flavorful banana bread made with ripe bananas, simple pantry ingredients, and a soft tender crumb.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease or line a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mash bananas and mix with melted butter.
  4. Stir in sugar, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  5. Add vanilla extract and milk, mixing until smooth.
  6. Gradually fold in dry ingredients until just combined.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for best flavor and sweetness.
  • Avoid overmixing to keep the bread soft.
  • Add nuts or chocolate chips for variation.
  • Can be made dairy-free by substituting butter and milk.
  • Store in airtight container to retain moisture.
