Description
Baked cheesy beef roll-ups are a hearty, family-friendly meal featuring seasoned ground beef, melty cheese, and soft tortillas baked until golden. Perfect for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
- 500 g ground beef (halal)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped (150 g)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 120 ml tomato sauce
- 120 g shredded mozzarella cheese
- 120 g shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 large flour tortillas (about 25 cm each)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until soft.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground beef and cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking it up, until browned.
- Stir in salt, paprika, cumin, black pepper, and oregano. Mix well.
- Pour in tomato sauce and simmer for 3 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Lay tortillas flat and divide the beef mixture evenly among them.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar over the beef.
- Roll each tortilla tightly and place seam-side down in a greased baking dish.
- Bake uncovered for 18–22 minutes, until golden and cheese is melted.
- Garnish with parsley, let rest 5 minutes, and serve warm.
Notes
- Add diced bell peppers or mushrooms to the filling for extra veggies.
- Use all mozzarella for a milder flavor or cheddar for sharper taste.
- Add chili flakes or chili powder for extra heat.
- Swap in whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas if desired.
