Ingredients
- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 3 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, cornstarch, and vanilla extract.
- Roll out puff pastry and cut into rectangles or squares.
- Place apple filling in the center of each piece, leaving a border.
- Fold or leave open-faced and seal edges if needed.
- Transfer to baking tray and brush with egg wash mixed with milk.
- Brush lightly with melted butter.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
