Description

A flaky and buttery puff pastry filled with tender cinnamon-spiced apples, creating a warm and comforting dessert or snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 3 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, cornstarch, and vanilla extract.
  3. Roll out puff pastry and cut into rectangles or squares.
  4. Place apple filling in the center of each piece, leaving a border.
  5. Fold or leave open-faced and seal edges if needed.
  6. Transfer to baking tray and brush with egg wash mixed with milk.
  7. Brush lightly with melted butter.
  8. Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden and puffed.
  9. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
