Description

Soft and fluffy air fryer donut holes made with just two simple ingredients. These yeast-free, egg-free, and dairy-free treats are quick to prepare, lightly crisp outside, tender inside, and perfect for coating in cinnamon sugar or filling with jam.

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups self-rising flour
  • 34 tablespoons extra self-rising flour (for shaping, if needed)
  • 1 cup vanilla plant-based yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon light-flavored oil (for kneading and greasing hands)
  • 2 tablespoons plant-based butter, melted (for coating)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • ⅓ cup strawberry jam (optional filling)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour and vanilla plant-based yogurt.
  2. Stir with a spatula until small lumps form and the dough begins to come together.
  3. Lightly oil your hands and knead the dough in the bowl until a soft, elastic ball forms.
  4. Transfer to a lightly floured surface and add up to 3–4 tablespoons of extra flour only if the dough is too sticky.
  5. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and roll each into a smooth ball with lightly greased hands.
  6. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil and arrange the donut holes with space between them. Lightly spray the tops.
  7. Air fry at 350°F (180°C) for 8–9 minutes. Shake the basket and cook an additional 3–4 minutes if needed until golden brown.
  8. Cool slightly on a wire rack.
  9. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  10. Brush warm donut holes with melted plant-based butter and roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  11. If filling, insert a piping syringe into the side and gently pipe jam inside each donut hole.

Notes

  • Avoid adding too much flour to prevent dense donut holes.
  • Plain yogurt can be used; add 1–2 tablespoons sugar if desired.
  • For oven baking, bake at 350°F (180°C) for 15–18 minutes.
  • Store at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerate up to 5 days.
  • Freeze up to 2 months and reheat in air fryer or microwave.
